MY EXPERIENCE

January 2012-May 2012

INTERNSHIP

I did an internship with the Burlington Animal Adoption Center while in High School for 5 months. This consisted of walking, feeding and providing enrichment for the cats and dogs on the adoption list. As well as helping out with the spay and neuter surgeries on animals waiting to go into the adoption center.

October 2016-2022

ANIMAL HUSBANDRY

I worked as an animal husbandry tech for Duke University. This position includes changing mouse cages, providing vet care, and feeding/watering animals.

ASSOCIATES DEGREE

I obtained my Associates in Animal Care and Management from Alamance community College in 2020. This degree is focused on small animal care to include husbandry, vet care, and nutrition.

CPR (DOG & CAT)

I was trained on how to properly perform CPR on cats and dogs through one of my small animal healthcare classes at Alamance Community College while obtaining my Associates degree.

June 2019-Present

RESEARCH TECH

I am a research tech in a lab at Duke University full-time. I work with rodents with interest in environmental exposures such as ozone and the impact it causes on the human body especially in asthmatic and obese patients. In this job I have learned many techniques for handling as well as enrichment and behaviors related to rodents and continue learning more everyday.

June 2020-Present

KENNELMAN

I have worked for Red Mountain Fox Hounds since June 2020. I am responsible for caring for a kennel of somewhere between 40-80 fox hounds as well as 2 horses. I usually work this job on sundays only, however I help out when the Huntsman is out of town for a hunt. This includes, mucking stalls, feeding and providing water for horses and hounds.

INDEPENDENT ANIMAL RESCUE VOLUNTEER

I began working with IAR on a volunteer basis in June 2022, helping out with the yearly fundraiser(Painted Chair Auction), transporting dogs, assisting with the foster spay and neuter clinic and administrative fostering.
